The Harry Potter series makes the wizarding sport Quidditch sound like pretty much the best thing ever, so why should wannabe wizards let a lack of magical ability stand in the way of them having the same fun? An earthbound version of Quidditch first appeared at Middlebury College in 2005 and slowly spread across northeastern liberal-arts campuses. The rules of the sport are remarkably similar to those dreamed up by J.K. Rowling, with two major exceptions: the players do not fly (they merely scurry around with brooms in between their legs) and the ever important Golden Snitch does not move of its own volition (it is instead carried by a fleet-footed runner). Any readers who think that sounds enjoyable should consider entering the Quidditch World Cup, held this November in New York City. Hopefully this one will stay Death Eaterfree.
