Balance Ball
Wounded warriors are constantly sizing each other up — not out of jealously, but out of reverence. When a single amputee sees a double amputee running through nets and jumping on and off of boxes, he often thinks about his one good leg and it makes him work even harder. Marine Lance Corporal Ivan Sears, who lost both of his legs in the Battle of Marjah in Afghanistan in Oct. 2010, works out at the Center for the Intrepid's main rehabilitation floor. Sears was working on his upper body strength, which will help him balance on his prosthetic legs.
