Some Guys Are Bigger than Others
Bonfires have been accompanied by fireworks since the 1650s, and it became a custom to burn an effigy, which usually tends to be of Fawkes himself. (The likenesses of Paul Kruger and Margaret Thatcher have also made their way onto the bonfires.) The "guy" is often made by children using old clothes, newspapers and a mask.
