In 1967 the Russians paraded two 120-ft. (37 m) intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) for the first time in public across Red Square, during an event honoring the 50th anniversary of the Russian revolution. Missiles like these had a range of 7,000 miles (about 11,000 km), meaning they could have reached most parts of the U.S.
