Czechoslovakia returned to the World Cup finals for its second and final appearance in 1962, losing 3-1 to Brazil, the defending World Cup champ. Czechoslovakia now plays as two teams since the Czech Republic and Slovakia separated in 1993. The Czech team failed to qualify for the Cup in 2010, while Slovakia made it to the second round, where it was defeated by the Netherlands.
