The Blues Brothers, 1980
They dressed like the guys from Reservoir Dogs before there was a Reservoir Dogs, and they were on a mission from God. As played by Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi, Jake and Elwood Blues debuted in 1978 as the "musical guests" on an episode of Saturday Night Live. The madcap film version starring the duo — directed by John Landis, who was coming off National Lampoon's Animal House (also starring Belushi) — is widely considered to be one of the best SNL films around.
