Deliberately within firing range of Intramuros's cannons — testament to the siege mentality of early Spanish settlers — is Binondo, Manila's colorful 400-year-old Chinatown. Purportedly the oldest Chinatown in the world, it teems with jostling pedestrians and itinerant vendors.
