Constitution Deadlock
Iraq's National Assembly in Baghdad votes unanimously for a seven-day extension of the deadline for the constitution draft minutes before expiry of the August 15 deadline. The Assembly granted itself the deadline after its leaders failed to reach agreement on key issues in the charter. The next seven days will see intensive negotiations aimed at brokering a deal
