Around the World in 67 Hours
Pilot Steve Fossett and Virgin Atlantic founder Sir Richard Branson celebrate after Fossett landed the GlobalFlyer aircraft on a runway in Salina, Kansas. Fossett finally claimed what many consider the last great aviation milestone: the first solo, non-stop, non-refueled flight around the world. It was Fossett's third world record for circling the earth. His other voyages were by boat and hot air balloon.
