National is the first manufacturer to back mortgages on a large scale for builders who want to buy and develop land, has sunk $20 million into the program. For each $1,000 he puts into land development, Price expects to add an additional house to his annual production. By keeping the homeowners and the builders happy, he hopes to grab the biggest share of the building boom. Says he: "Our goal is 50% of all housing starts by 1975."
