The entire text of Walter Cronkite's nightly newscast would fill but two-thirds of the front page of the New York Times. "Television news," says ABC Executive Producer Av Westin, "is an illustrated headline service. I know what we have to leave out, and if people do not read newspapers, newsmagazines and books, they are desperately uninformed."
