The Godino case brought to public attention Marie Keeler, 9, of Marseilles, Ill. and Zelda Alsleben, 9, of Glencoe, Minn. Both girls are surviving halves of Siamese sets. Marie's twin, to whom she was joined by an abdominal pouch, died at birth, was promptly cut loose by Dr. Paul R. Clark of Marseilles. Zelda and her sister Elda also were joined at their abdomens. When they were three months old, Dr. Hillard Herman Holm of Glencoe severed them. Elda died last March of a heart ailment. Zelda is the smartest girl in her fifth grade class.
