Buren's Photos-Souvenirs is a collection of thousands of photos that he has taken since the 1950s. Together, Hèrmes and Buren narrowed his sizable photo stock down to 22 souvenirs, which were then transferred to the silk carrés and framed with a colorful, striped "visual tool," the artist's signature. The Photos-Souvenirs au Carré collection was printed using ink-jet technology, an entirely new process for the fashion house, which allows for an infinite number of colors perfect for such a vibrant collection.
