Occupation: Intellectual activist and documentarian, Occupy Wall Street
When the Occupy Wall Street movement took over New York City's Zuccotti Park last fall, its origins were somewhat of a mystery. But it soon became clear that much of Occupy's philosophy came from the work of Graeber, who taught at Yale and was a longtime social-justice advocate. As the group grew, Pool, a journalist from Chicago, began a 21-hour marathon live stream of the protests that was seen all over the world and fueled the movement's growth.
