Can you remember a time before Gosling? The ubiquitous Canadian seemingly appeared in every recent film of note: he started off 2011 being praised for Blue Valentine, proceeded to show off his comic chops (and impressive abs) in Crazy Stupid Love and took an altogether more menacing turn in the beguiling Drive before stealing the show from George Clooney in The Ides of March.
