Pamela Druckerman

Age: 42
Occupation: Author, mom

In Bringing Up Bébé, expat Druckerman praises the French for imposing order on their offspring. Druckerman, who lives in Paris with her two children, says French kids don't throw tantrums, eat more than mac and cheese and sleep through the night sooner than American babies. They're better able to entertain themselves; they patiently save cakes baked in the morning until afternoon snacktime. Yes, some French parents can be too authoritarian, but Druckerman argues there's lots to like about how France is raising the next generation.
