With the official ending of the Iraq war and the drawdown in Afghanistan, the ranks of America's veterans are growing monthly, and Rieckhoff is a leading advocate for these men and women. He and the IAVA have worked tirelessly to draw attention to veterans' unemployment, suicides and the struggle for health care. And that's not all: "We want to... look at [veterans] as teachers and community leaders, not someone who's going to be homeless or going to be in jail," says Rieckhoff.
