Donald Trump's latest flirtation with a presidential campaign was about as sound as his signature blow-dry. After latching on to conspiratorial notions about the authenticity of President Obama's birth certificate in the spring, Trump briefly enjoyed rising poll numbers and the attentions of the national press corps. Mercifully, it didn't last. Obama produced the document in question, and Trump called off the political sideshow when he had to face a sobering choice: run for President, or renew his NBC reality show. Now all that Americans have to endure is the parade of real Republican presidential candidates who are making a pilgrimage to New York City to kiss the Donald's ring.
