Anthony Weiner on ... Anthony's 'Weiner'

On May 27, while watching a hockey game, Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner (@RepWeiner) tweeted a photo of his penis, erect but covered by boxers. It's not that Weiner never intended to tweet the picture; he did. But he meant to send it as a direct message to a 21-year-old girl, a student in Washington State. Weiner immediately denied that the lap in question was his and claimed his account was hacked. It wasn't long until more women and more incriminating photography appeared, leading to a very public unraveling of a political career. The Internet pounced, with both the media and the comedy industry competing for the greatest pun. (Our take? " 'Twas not hackage but his package.") No, Weiner is not the first person to be taken down by twimmolation, nor will he be the last. Instead, his story is just another cautionary tale of the potency of social media.
