Venus Williams' Corseted Tennis Costume
No stranger to costume controversy, Venus Williams took the court at the French Open in 2010 wearing a racy black-and-red-lace jumper paired with skintight flesh-colored shorts that left little to the imagination. Williams, who designs her own garments for her label EleVen, talked about her bold choice at a press conference following the match (which she won), saying, "Lace has never been done before in tennis, and I've been wanting to do it for a long time. The illusion of just having bare skin is definitely for me a lot more beautiful."
