Joaquin Phoenix

You know you're in trouble when the inspiration for your career trajectory seems to be Jamie Kennedy. After starring in the Oscar-winning Gladiator and nearly getting an Oscar of his own for playing Johnny Cash in Walk the Line, Phoenix embarked on a bizarre mockumentary called I'm Still Here, in which he announced his retirement from acting to pursue a career in hip-hop. Phoenix's performances weren't exactly inspiring (he once fell off a stage), but he showed some determination, as well as some bizarre antics that weren't revealed to be staged until after the film was released. The rapping itself isn't bad for an amateur, but perhaps he should stick to playing a rapper instead of actually becoming one.
