Morgan le Fay

In various strains of the Arthurian tradition, Morgan (sometimes Morgana) le Fay represents the anti-King Arthur, a jealous, deceitful sorceress sister to the pious, noble warrior brother. She sows distrust, poisons, and seeks to undermine through illusions and manipulative schemes. "Le Fay" connotes the old understanding of a faerie: a dark, shadowy spirit from an earlier time, something malevolent and to be warded against.
