O.J. Simpson vs. the Brown Family
Understandably, a murder trial adds a nasty dimension to any custody battle, especially when one of the parents has been accused of murdering the other. Legendary football player O.J. Simpson was acquitted in a criminal court of charges that he killed his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, but found liable in civil court for her 1994 death. The case sparked a four-year battle between Simpson and his ex-wife's mother Juditha Brown for custody of the couple's two children. The court excluded evidence of whether he killed his ex-wife, and any evidence of possible prior domestic abuse, and Simpson was granted custody.
