Plarail Toy Train

The Plarail toy-train-and-track system was created by Tomy in Japan in 1959. Fit together with an inexpensive network of colorful plastic rails, the set saw a rise in popularity in the 1960s upon its October 1961 expansion into a battery-operated electric system.
