The Golden Girls and Mary Tyler Moore alum, propelled to SNL by a grassroots campaign on Facebook, was a hit on the late-night sketch show, successfully following up on a well-received Superbowl commercial. Soon after that, she was co-starring in a new sitcom, Hot in Cleveland, and winning an Emmy for her SNL appearance. In her opening monologue, White had thanked her fans on Facebook for pushing for her to be on the show, adding, "I didn't know what Facebook was, and now that I do know what it is, I have to say, it sounds like a huge waste of time."
