The lead track on Elizabeth Cook's Welder album is straight-up classic country for people who like their grass blue and their accents twangy. The Nashville songstress often tiptoes between the worlds of Americana and modern country — a difficult trick, considering that these days, country singers can be Nanci Griffith or Taylor Swift but rarely both. Unless, that is, you're Elizabeth Cook.
