United and Continental Merge, Forming World's Largest Airline

United and Continental joined forces in September in a multibillion-dollar merger that made the joint operation the biggest airline in the world. An estimated 144 million passengers will fly United-Continental every year, traveling to almost 60 countries around the globe; thus the airline overtakes the former largest, Delta-Northwest, which had merged earlier in 2010. The annual revenue of United-Continental is estimated to be close to $30 billion.
