Tiger Woods, to Everyone, for Cheating on His Wife
The world's most famous golfer took a good long time to line up his shot before stepping up and apologizing for cheating on his wife Elin Nordegren. He pretty much hit it on the green, apologizing to Nordegren and his kids (who weren't there), his mom (who was) and the American public, most of whom were not in the room but were listening raptly. It wasn't the most fluent of apologies: "I'm embarrassed. That I have put you. In this position" — and the setting, in front of a strange blue velvet curtain, looked like that of a magic show. Still didn't do the trick, though. Tiger Woods and Nordegren divorced six months later.
