Justin Bieber, Trending No More
Justin Bieber used to be the name you couldn't erase from Twitter's home page. As a phrase, "Justin Bieber" consistently topped the site's list of trending topics, fueled by endless mentions by the teenage crooner's legion of fans. But in May 2010, Twitter tweaked its trending-topic formula, focusing more on phrases of the moment and less on consistently popular topics. Bieber fans did not take it well, creating topics like "Jieber" and "Twieber," while Bieber himself replied to Twitter, expressing his disappointment that his fans could no longer dominate the site.
