On July 6, actress and former Disney star Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail after a judge ruled that she had violated her probation in a DUI case by missing alcohol counseling sessions. The day before going to jail, she tweeted her distress at the prospect of spending three months behind bars. Lohan, 24, surrendered to the court on July 20 and served less than two weeks in jail before checking into rehab. With the celebrity media tracking her every move, she later failed a drug test and was sent back to jail in September.
