Camel Caravan

It's the mode of transportation made famous by many a dusty epic, not least the film Lawrence of Arabia — in which Peter O'Toole's character T.E. Lawrence is led through the desert by Bedouins, in scenes that have become some of the most recognizable images in film history. The problem with riding these large beasts is that they have lumpy backs, they are sometimes kind of mean and spit when they're agitated and they will occasionally just sit down in the middle of a trip if they feel like it. But you would too if you were carrying people and cargo across a desert. Still, camels remain an essential part of nomadic life in places like Somalia and Ethiopia. And apparently in the Sex and the City 2 movie.
