A self-styled conscience of the conservative movement, South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint became a lonely grouch in 2009, telling his party to abandon moderates who "don't have a set of beliefs." Now he looks like a visionary, having handpicked many of the Tea Party upstarts who will lead the GOP's class of 2010, including Florida's Marco Rubio, Kentucky's Rand Paul and Utah's Mike Lee.
