Political Theater, Served

Florida has seen its share of political drama this year, but few things stack up to being served a subpoena in the middle of a campaign press conference. On Aug. 10, a process server materialized at an event for Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott with papers in hand. An ally of Scott's GOP primary opponent, Florida attorney general Bill McCollum, was filing suit to gain access to Scott's deposition in a case against his former health care company. Scott was none too amused. Flashing with anger, he dubbed his opponent "the Tonya Harding of Florida politics."
