What Not to Wear, Campaign Edition

Politicians have hobbies, just like anybody else — golf seems to be a popular choice — but some pastimes just don't gel with public office. On Oct. 8, the Atlantic posted a story detailing how for years Ohio Republican Rich Lott participated in historical re-enactments as a Nazi soldier. There was ample photographic evidence, and Lott never denied his involvement with the group. Though he insisted that his fascination was with the military history and not the ideology of the Third Reich, Lott nonetheless drew rebuke from members of both parties. As far as politics goes, there are skeletons in one's closet, and then there are skeletons dressed in German Waffen SS uniforms, grinning ear to ear.
