A Hairy Hot Mike
"God, what is that hair?" Carly Fiorina chortled to an offscreen companion as they discussed California Senator Barbara Boxer's do and waited for a television interview to begin on the morning of June 9. "Soooo yesterday." What the Republican Senate candidate didn't realize at the time was that the cameras and microphones in the studio were capturing her every word. Although Fiorina later said she regretted giving people the chance to talk about something "petty and superficial," she declined to apologize, illustrating how no quarter is given in the bitter battle for Congress, even over one's choice of coiffure.
