Miles Davis: The Genius of Miles Davis

The most ornate set of the year is really more of a meta-box of eight earlier compilations from the great jazz bandleader's 1955-75 recordings, packaged in a trumpet case and accompanied by a replica of his mouthpiece. Pretty much every piece of music here is superb, down to the last alternate take and spaced-out electric jam. Still, it's hard to imagine that well-heeled fans willing to spring for this pricey set don't own most of these tunes already.
