It's a tempting proposition: 70 "lost" radio programs, sponsored by Mother's Best Flour, which the godfather of country music recorded in 1951 packaged in a handsome old-timey radio that plays the show's opening when you turn its dial. In practice, though, the set is maddeningly repetitive (with the brilliant exception being "Stars in Her Eyes," a musical drama about the perils of venereal disease). And even the liner notes apologize for Audrey Williams' tune-impaired guest appearances.
