Digital Thermometer

The original patent for the digital thermometer was filed in 1970 by the Royal Medical Corp. in Alabama. Sketches accompanying the patent file show a battery-powered thermometer affixed to a nurse's clipboard with a probe that could be inserted into a patient's mouth or "other cavity."
