The Clapper

On Oct. 29, 1965, in a TIME magazine article, Sonus Corp. introduced the Sonuswitch, a sound-activated remote control that could turn on or off any electronic device plugged into the switch. There's no record of the Sonuswitch ever coming to market, but you can't help but wonder if the inventors of the original Clapper, which debuted in 1985, knew about it.
