Google's annual international programming competition attracts around 10,000 participants who race to solve a series of complex algorithms within a limited amount of time. The world's best coders (professional or otherwise) compete for a cash prize and ultimate geek cred as Google's reigning "code champ." A yearly event for Google since its inaugural competition in 2003, the Code Jam pits nerd against nerd during a 24-hour online qualifying round, from which the top 25 competitors are flown to the site of that year's final championship a competition rich in geekiness.
