19. The Cut-in-Line Charge

The airlines' latest brainstorm to get beleaguered flyers to pay for extra comfort: rather than wait for your group to be called in the long, excruciating boarding process, now you can go to the front of the line for a fee of between $10 and $30, depending on the airline. On flights where the overhead bins may get filled, it could be worth it. But really — just how much of a rush do you need to be in to board an airplane?
