Iceland's Silvia Night with "Congratulations" (2006)
Iceland's Silvia Night was as outrageous off the stage as she was on it. When voters eliminated her during the semifinals, she lashed out in front of reporters, claiming the public didn't like her because she wasn't "a slut from Holland." In reality, though, the audience booed her off stage because her lyrics mocked Eurovision and declared her the presumptive winner: "So congratulations I have arrived/ I'm Silvia Night and I'm shining so bright/ Eurovision nation, your dream's coming true/ You've been waiting forever/ For me to save you." After the contest, Night staged a photo call in which she threatened to jump off a bridge.
