Followers of major American orchestras know that summer is often when the big names go elsewhere and the bench players take over for crowd-pleasing pop concert events. But once or twice a summer, the major players come out into the open air with a more demanding repertoire. In August, the Cleveland Orchestra's acclaimed music director Franz Welser-Möst conducts his renowned ensemble in works by Brahms and Strauss, the must-see concerts of the Blossom Music Festival.
