Little Orphan Annie has been living the hard-knock life for 86 years. But on June 13, 2010, one of America's favorite redheads will pack her bags for good. Created by Harold Gray in 1924, the strip currently appears in 20 newspapers, but Tribune Media Services decided to cancel it. "It's almost like mourning the loss of a friend," says current Annie illustrator Ted Slampyak. Aw. Don't worry, Slampyak. The sun will come out tomorrow.
