Who is the person who had the most effect or influence on you when you were growing up?
My parents. My dad is one of the smartest people I know. He can talk fluently about almost any subject. My mom encouraged us to achieve. Her motto to all four Couric children? "Let 'em know you're there." They both stressed the importance of education and giving back. No one has shaped my values or influenced my desire to achieve more in the last 53 years.
