Diet Coke and Mentos
Two scientist-looking men in white lab coats and eye-protector goggles prove the "Diet Coke and Mentos" myth true in this YouTube video that has been viewed more than 11 million times. They start small, with just one 2-liter bottle of Diet Coke and four Mentos. When the four mint Mentos are dropped into the soda, a giant stream of carbonated pop shoots out — much like when you shake a bottle of soda and then open the lid, only with a lot more power. In their next project, which they label Experiment #137, the men create a huge number of explosions using 101 2-liter bottles of Diet Coke and 523 Mentos. After the finale, they throw their arms in the air in triumph.
