Milton Waddams, Office Space
Milton Waddams is heartbreakingly wimpy in the 1999 comedy Office Space. All the man wants is a few simple pleasures — a nice desk, a piece of cake at a co-worker's birthday and his red Swingline stapler. For most of the movie, Milton is trampled upon by everyone around him. Turns out he was actually laid off five years earlier, but kept receiving paychecks due to a computer glitch. Once the glitch is fixed, his bosses don't bother to tell him he is fired and instead just assume he will eventually leave. But he doesn't. It's only after his beloved stapler is confiscated that the meek mumbler finally snaps. Cue the burning.
