The addiction specialist more than found his niche when he began hosting Celebrity Rehab, a VH1 reality show for celebrities facing drug, alcohol or sex addiction, in 2008. The show has since generated multiple spin-offs; Dr. Drew maintains his syndicated talk-radio show Loveline, and wrote The Mirror Effect in 2009. Responding to criticism of his practice of paying celebrities to attend rehab, he says, "My whole thing is bait and switch. Whatever motivates them to come in, that's fine."
