Elizabeth Warren

Age: 60
Occupation: Attorney and consumer advocate
Previous TIME 100 Appearances: 1

Warren first gained public attention by appearing on various talk shows and other programs to advise the middle class on dealing with debt and financial struggles. Now she has an even larger audience. The Harvard Law professor and chair of the Congressional Oversight Panel has continued to fight for the interests of consumers, recently advocating for the establishment of a Consumer Financial Protection Agency to fix the broken credit market and make sure that "there is an agency in Washington on the side of families."
