The artist usually known as Prince has a tendency to get into disputes with his fans. In his far-reaching efforts to control his image and music, he has sued and nearly sued many times. In 1999, he filed against Uptown magazine, a fan publication, but later dropped the suit. In 2007, YouTube was in his sights, for airing unauthorized music videos. That same year, a coalition of fans behind other websites tired of the bullying, and dramatically dubbed "Prince Fans United" stood up to the artist's insistence that they take down photographs of him.
